It is always stressful to combine your life with that of your significant other, moving in together is a trying time and you have to learn to compromise to make the arrangement work, both of you need to have a clear picture of what you want in life, and your plans need to align to some degree if the relationship is going to last.
Most importantly, you need to get along with their family, because it’s always a challenge to deal with your in laws, and that’s why I’m so careful when my boyfriend’s parents are coming over; I try to make the home perfect for them; I learned quickly, however, that despite my best efforts, my friend and I were going to disagree in one realm in particular; my friend and I do not see eye to eye on the thermostat settings.
It turns out that they are accustomed to being warm, and want the temperature settings to be right around 70 degrees, even at night. I try my best to keep them glad, and I have no problem running the boiler during the day, but at night I refuse to feel hot and humid air while I try to sleep. I personally cherish to have the cooling system on, making the indoor air condition cool and dry for sleeping. Because this seems to be a point of satisfiedion, I am preparing to have zone controlled heating and cooling installed in our house. That way, my in laws can adjust their home office to any temperature they wish, while I can love my a/c all night long.
