Oftentimes, it pays off to be a nice human being when you can.
A few weeks ago, for instance, I was strolling around my favorite local department store when I saw a full grown man resting in the juniors section and looking harshly uncomfortable. I watched him stroll around for a while, looking harshly confused in the young men’s section. I had no idea what he was doing walking around there, but it looked like he felt the same. Eventually, I started to feel quite exhausting for the man, because the look on his face was utterly downtrodden. I walked over to see if he needed help with something in this ladies department. Surprisingly, he turned around and was instantaneously grateful for my inquiry. He shared that he was trying to find a gift for his guy’s daughter, and he had no idea what teenage men like. I helped him find a cool gift, and in the meantime he told me a bit about his life. It turns out, he is a central heating and cooling ventilation specialist. He constantly driving around town and services most people’s failing heating and cooling appliances. He is harshly skilled at indoor air quality control, including dehumidification and media air cleaners. I helped him choice out a set of nail polish for his teenage daughter, and as we parted ways he handed me his supplier card. He said if I ever needed a hand with my air handling equipment, I should instantaneously give him a call. I walked away from the interaction feeling nice about myself and reassured that my indoor air quality would constantly be top notch.
