Trying my hand at an HVAC career

Trying my hand at an HVAC career

I am so ready for this next decade in my life.

To be honest, I am ready to say goodbye to my twenties.

I don’t feel like this has been the most fruitful period in my life, and I’m ready to hit the reset button on my plans. At the beginning of my twenties, I was on a continually promising trajectory. I was always getting noticed by my professors and receiving new opportunities. I was expected to do great things from an early age and was succeeding in the scientific research field. However, after a few years, I got sick of it all. I got burnt out and felt sick. After that, I feel like my life just hasn’t been on the same promising path. In fact, I am so dissatisfied with the way things have panned out, that I am fully considering returning to school and becoming a certified heating and cooling specialist. Some of my family has been extremely negative about this new life plan. If they have expressed that HVAC technicians are not impressive professionals. Personally, I completely disagree. In today’s modern world, the HVAC industry is nothing like it once was. Many of our indoor air quality control appliances are basically miniature computers. They connect directly to your Wi-Fi, they talk to smart thermostat computers, and they can be controlled directly from your phone. Modern HVAC technicians are basically computer scientists and electrical engineers, wrapped up into convenient HVAC technician packaging.I truly believe that I could be quite happy entering a tried-and-true industry such as indoor air quality management. I could finally put my college education to work, in a profession that I actually enjoy.
