My buddy and I each had a bedroom plus my husband had an office. Then my associate and I had a baby who took the office. Then my associate and I had another baby that made us share a room. There is an indoor air handler in each room with a thermostat. So those rooms can be controlled independently from the house. I didn’t have to add any ductwork in the new design or add onto our new Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C. My husband’s room plus office are now those spaces. He also is the only one in that lavatory. When he goes on work trips I then turn off the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C on that side of the home plus save money. I never notice a difference in my portion of the home. I only see a change in our utility bills. It was a smarter decision on our part. When my main Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C goes I might do a heat pump for every room. It is a quick, energy smart, plus attractive solution for heating plus cooling in my area.
