I can’t place my furniture where I want it

I can’t place my furniture where I want it

If you’ve lived in several homes, then you know how challenging it is to move all of your stuff.

You collect things in one living situation, and then try to transfer them to a new space.

It’s extremely laborious and difficult to do the physical labor, and in the end it’s often difficult to position your belongings sensibly in a uniquely sized and shaped location. I swear, sometimes it takes at least a year for me to understand where everything sits in a new home. Often times, it takes even longer to understand the placement of the air vents, light switches, and outlets in the house. These can be huge obstacles when it comes to placing all of your belongings. To make matters even worse, the older I get, the more it seems the home builders are completely unreasonable when it comes to placing air vents around a house. I can’t be the only human who has certain expectations when it comes to their indoor air quality and accessibility to air handling devices. I have no idea why a furnace would be located deep down in the crawl space of the home. I can’t comprehend why an air filter would be tucked in the back, around the corner, and through several pointy objects when you need to access it every month. And worst of all, I am so frustrated trying to position my furniture around these terrifically inconvenient air vents. I feel like I can’t see if any of my furniture down without immediately blocking every air duct and reducing my indoor air quality. I swear, one day I’ll just build my own house.
